Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hard courts
A comeback Medvedev secured his maiden championship for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has had a challenging year, winning just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.
His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in particular - caused him falling of the top ten and finally splitting with long-time trainer Cervara.
Presently working with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought competitive win over challenger Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's first title following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court from that period of 2023.
Victory also means he has secured twenty-one championships at twenty-one different tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my two daughters together, so to secure a title is really nice," said tennis professional the champion.
"This championship is in tribute of my child her name, because the first title I got when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, comprising in Halle earlier this year.
Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and regular emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted observers to wonder if his ability to perform at the highest level was finished.
Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and perform aggressively, reinforced by an improved serve.
He fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult opponent, taking four of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.
Both players swapped break points in the following set before the challenger, striving for his initial tour championship, took control to push for a final set.
He rescued 4 early-game break points in a tight deciding set before the Russian won the break to 15 to serve for the match.
Suitably, the winner secured the win with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet failing to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
